SOCIAL COMMUNITY HUBS
Added Value for People and Locations
ECE’s social impact strategy is dedicated to building strong communities and sustainable locations. Our centers are an integral part of local public life. They combine shopping with access to essential services, social interaction, and community engagement. As part of our Social Impact Strategy, we are purposefully expanding this role—in a needs-based, structured manner, and with a commitment to making our progress measurable.
Our Social Impact Strategy provides a clear direction for our social engagement. It helps us systematically identify local needs, implement appropriate measures, and transparently track our<s> </s>.<s> </s>, we aim to strengthen our centers as places where people feel welcome, safe, and valued. In this way, we can promote their social relevance and, at the same time,<s> </s>contribute to the long-term attractiveness, resilience, and value stability of our locations.
A PLACE WITH
Responsibility
As supply hubs and points of contact in crisis situations, our centers support people, government agencies, and emergency responders on the ground and create local jobs.
A PLACE FOR THE
Everyday Life
Our centers are public, multifunctional spaces that combine various uses, services, and functions—such as provision of goods and services, interaction, and experiences
for visitors and local residents alike.
A PLACE FOR THE
Society
Our centers are vibrant places that add value for all users and the entire neighborhood, and help strengthen and enrich the local community.
“Our centers are more than just places to shop: They are employers, gathering places, and important hubs in the daily lives of many people. Through local initiatives, fundraising campaigns, and efforts to improve accessibility, we take responsibility in our communities.”
FROM GOAL TO ACTION:
Our Social Impact Process
Our strategy translates social responsibility into clear areas of action and enables each center to respond specifically to the needs of its local community. A total of 33 sub-goals define our expectations for center management. Associated KPIs make progress measurable, identify areas where action is needed, and support the continuous improvement of our activities.
