Sustainability is firmly anchored in ECE’s corporate strategy and encompasses environmental, social, and business aspects. At ECE, sustainable action begins with the company itself: A respectful, diverse, and safe work environment for our employees is an essential part of this. With the organizational realignment, the sustainability strategy and sustainability reporting were also refocused on the shopping center business. At the same time, structures, responsibilities, and processes in sustainability management were reorganized and aligned. As part of this realignment, the existing materiality analysis was also reviewed. While the original analysis considered the full scope of the ECE Group’s business activities at that time, it was realigned for the current reporting to focus on ECE’s shopping center business and the associated areas of influence. In doing so, the relevant sustainability issues and their significance for ECE were reassessed.

The focus is on the sustainable and future-proof management of the properties under ECE’s stewardship, the long-term preservation of their value, and the requirements of investors, tenants, and other stakeholders. The sustainability strategy developed accordingly defines the key areas of action and objectives and provides the framework for ECE’s continued ESG focus.
